Kinect power adaptor for old Xbox 360

When Kinect finally arrive, some game asking “Does Kinect will works with my old Xbox 360?". Well only took a few days for Microsoft announced power adapter for the Kinect has become available at the company's online store for $34.99. Another question will be "Does I need to buy that adapter when I already brought Kinect?"

Luckily, If you bought the Kinect as a standalone accessory to your already owned Xbox 360 then you know that you also received a power adapter for the Kinect, since it can’t run on old 360s without it. But if you were to buy the new Xbox 360 Slim Console that came bundled with the Kinect then you will not be getting a power supply, instead it will run directly off of the console itself.

The adapter powers the Kinect unit for users with older (read: not slim) Xbox 360s, and is unnecessary for users of the newer Xbox hardware, which has a special powered Kinect port on the back. The adapter is included for users who bought the standalone Kinect accessory, but not in either of the two Kinect Xbox 360 bundles, since they both feature the Kinect port.
