New era of gaming competition began on 2005 when Microsoft lunch their Xbox 360. This make gaming competition become more interesting between Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony. As time goes by, console technology become more sophisticated, price more lower and console use already move from only as gaming console become entertainment system

In this post, I will discuss about competition between Microsoft and Sony with top each of their console. Microsoft with their Xbox 250 Gb Elite slim and Sony with their Playstation 3 (PS3) Slim. Xbox Slim and PS3 slim have same price which around $250 so this will not become issue. From design perspective, both consoles have black matte finish which more elegant in my point of view. Sony console has a modern sparkle. Xbox 360 have history of hardware problem as known as RRoD.

Features
Many players care more about features and availability of game than the design. They also think what will i get when bought a console? Well i think the most differences PS3 compare with Xbox 360 even on Xbox Slim is Blu-ray disk. Xbox 360 not included Blu-ray drive, Microsoft launch HDD drive before instead but seems not success as Blu-ray already won competition for next DVD/storage technology. For WiFi, Microsoft already include WiFi on their Xbox 360 slim and this make them equal with WiFi in the matter of connectivity.

Game collection

How about game collection? Well seems Xbox 360 have bigger game collection compare with PS3. Xbox 360 in my opinion have more game type to play like RPG, Racing, Action and don’t forget about Xbox Kinect games which offer game category such as adventures, sports. Xbox LIVE which offers gamers to have better option related to game content. PS3 I would say also have several interesting game where we cannot find it on Xbox 360 such as MGS (Metal Gears Solid) and Grand Turismo series, Final Fantasy not included because finally FF-XIII also available on Xbox 360  

Graphic and Performance

Form Graphic and performance point of view, I would say PS3 got its point. PS3 have latest technology with its 3 CELL technology. PS3 have 3 CELL core which work together to process all computation in PS3 working on 3.2 GHz and equipped with 512 KB L2 chace make it as powerful processor and can easily do many task on PS3.
