Xbox 360 Slim Vs Older Xbox 360 Models

Microsoft has released a new version of Xbox 360 on June 2010, called Xbox 360 slim.. Previous xbox 360 as know as fat Xbox 360 consist of two fan with 5volt power to take out hot air from CPU + GPU chip, 3 USB port (to attach extra fan, controller) and hard disk with several storage size (from 20Gb to 250 Gb). While Xbox 360 slim has several advantages such as more USB port (now consist of 5 ports), bigger storage (up to 320 Gb) and built it Wi-fi (so we don’t need additional device to connect to internet

New Xbox 360 power is touch-sensitive keys, so just touch it and Xbox 360 slim will power up and this give advance perspective to Xbox 360 slim. Also sparkling look on Xbox 360 slim combine with black color makes this console elegant in my point of view.

Old Xbox 360 has more fans compare with Xbox 360 slim. As I mentioned, 2 fan located in the back and seems this cannot handle hot air produce by system console because this 2 fan only 5 volt and some gamer have to modify power input up to 12volt so that especially GPU chip will got enough cooler system. Compare with Xbox 360 slim with only consist of 1 fan also with good headsink and located on top of GPU and CPU chip, I mentioned before on previous article on Xbox 360 slim, GPU and CPU are combined into single chip. This fan doesn’t generated noise as Xbox 360 slim keep silent although we play game which need high GPU resource such as Gears of War of Cryisis.

5 USB port on Xbox 360 slim allow user to attach several device and the most important is Kinect, a new controller from Microsoft which allow user to use their body and sound as controller -  we also mentioned as hand – free system controller. 2 of USB port located in the front and rest is located in the back on console.

Xbox 360 HDD can be used as several purpose such as saving gamer profile, installing Game (we still need original DVD to play) and saving several interesting content from XBOX LIVE such as trial game, arcade game or even video on demand from Microsoft and with 320 Gb storage on Xbox 360 Slim, many content that gamer can saved into their console and this HDD still can be remove like previous Xbox 360.

And the last differences on Xbox 360 slim are it built in 802.11n Wi-Fi. This Wi-Fi already installed inside Xbox 360 slim, we no need to buy additional wireless equipment. The world trend is now on wireless equipment, we already see hand phone, wireless television which can attach to Blue ray player or internet service and Microsoft give answer by lunching console with Wi-Fi. Last word from me is Xbox 360 slim has won the battle and I am proud to be a part of it.
